Happy 4th Birthday to Jacob John Harris.  I can't believe how fast you grandchildren are growing up.  This is Jed and Jenny Harris' youngest son.  He has the prettiest blue eyes.

                                                                 What a cutie!!!

On the Road Again with the Scotts.

Thursday- 22 May 2014
Today is our Preparation Day so we went with Scotts to Iowa City to Costo Store.  It was really neat because the parking is all under a large building and the store is inside.  If it rains you don't get wet when you carry your food to the parking where your car is.  It was really neat then we went and shopped and ate at a cheese place.  The Scotts has been their before and said it was good.  It was pretty good.  It took us several hour to drive to Iowa City, quite a ways from Nauvoo but as a nice day.

Mission Training Meeting-May 20,2014

Tuesday- 20 May 2014
We had a Mission Training Meet today instead of Wed. Morning.  Elder Mark Lusvardi director of public programs and Melani Cottam, the manager of field operations with the Missionary Department.
We need to clean up our sites and make them look professional and orderly.  We need to put all our pass along cards and guest cards out of being on the top of the tables and put them in a draw.  Make the sites look clean and orderly.  Take down all pictures of Christ in each site because the pioneers didn't have pictures of Christ in their homes and buildings.  It was a great meeting and how we need to always Invite our guests to do something.  Ask our quest if they would like to know more about the Gospel?

Seventies Hall work day.

Tuesday-- May 13, 2014
We worked hard at the Seventies Hall trimming bushes and found this birds nest with baby birds in it.
                                                          Sleep little babies, Sleep!!
The mother robin bird did come back and feed her babies.  We had a great day today.  Here is a pictures of the ladies I worked with.
Sisters- Mayne, Bogaski, Harris, Olsen-82, and Cough.  They are so much fun to work with.
Here is the wagon ride that came in front of the Seventies Hall.  The driver was Sister Mayne's husband  so we had a fun time waving at him and at all the people on the wagon.  Sister Olsen is 82 years old and it is amazing of what a hard worker she is outside.  She is giving a toast to the Teamsters and the horses.  What a fun day....

Mother's Day- 11 May 2014

Sunday- May 11, 2014
Happy Mother's Day to all the women in our life's.   This has been a wonderful Mother's Day.  I received a bouquet of flowers from J.B. & Loni and flowers from Kisti-Jo's family  and many gifts from the Bonney's.  Thank you all for the wonderful Birthday and Mother's Day cards.  I really like the home made cards that you children made for us.  The cards the Christensen sent sang to us, we laughed, and laughed, loved them all. Brad and Megan thanks for all your help in sending our mail to us.  We love all the decorated things that Kavan and Teagen made for us and Spencer's sons Jackson and Porter made for us. Thank you Kim for that special Young Women Booklet, the stories are so spiritual.  They helped me draw closer to the spirit.   It is great to have the support on our Nauvoo Mission from our children.  We love you all so much!!
Here are the flowers in our patio that Elder Harris bought me for Mother's Day and my Birthday.

This flower has the largest blossoms of all the flowers in our patio.  It will bloom all summer with very little water.

This was the prettiest Begonia ever.  I could see this flower all the time hanging from my kitchen window.  Then I watered it too much and it died so I bought two impatiences to put in its place.

Here is a fence line of flowers in our patio.  We can see all these flowers from our kitchen table out the corner window.
What a pretty corner of flowers.  Below is flowers that we, Sister Jones and I planted along the length of the patio.

Here are the two impatiences hanging from our kitchen window. Elder Harris wanted them for his Father's Day gift.  He does really enjoy flowers also and he even waters them most of the time.

This is another planter that I planted by the back door. These are the Begonia's in the planter above.

Here is another planter on our patio.

This is the flower that the Christensen's gave to me for Mother's Day and my Birthday.

These are the roses sent from J.B. & Loni and Olive.

Another sad day- Missionaries leaving!

Friday- May 9, 2014
We had our early Morning Breakfast at 7:00 am. It is so good to have all the Missionaries in one place to see them all but sad to know that we might not see them again or for a long time. The sadist part is when we sing the song "Farewell Nauvoo".

Lou & Phil Mueller's visit to Nauvoo

Wednesday- May 7 & 8, 2014
It was such a surprise when we saw Lou Mueller and her husband Phil that evening.  They were on a Tour Bus seeing the Historical Sites.  They came to our Rendezvous in Old Nauvoo and we played Jed and Anne in it.  Lou took pictures of us and put it on Face Book.  Here are some pictures we took on Thursday May 8th.
Phil and Lou are at the Joseph Smith Burial Place.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Phil & Lou Mueller

Lou Mueller doesn't she look Beautiful in the Tulips in the Women's Garden!!!
                                                                                 Special  Moments!!

What a cute picture of Lou looking up at the Statures.
These are beautiful Women Statures in the Women's Garden.

Lou is standing in front of the Relief Society Stature in the Women's Garden.
Here are the beautiful Tulips in the Women's Garden
and other  flowering plants.

We are at Joseph  & Hyrum Smith's Parents burial spot.
These are the Three Tomb Stones that Hyrum, Joseph, and Emma Smith are buried.
Community of Christ owns the land where the three are buried in Nauvoo.

It is very special to stand on Holy Ground.  Here is a beautiful flowering tree right by the graves that we walked past as we walked to the car.
After we walked down the Trail of Hope and looked at this Monument of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young.
Here Lou is walking over to look at the size of the Wagons the Pioneers used.  They are not as big as you would think they would have used.  There is such a special feeling to walk the streets in Nauvoo.
We love our Mission here and really enjoyed having Phil and Lou Mueller visit us in Nauvoo.

FM day

Tuesday- May 6, 2014
We trimmed the bushes at the Brigham Young's Home.  We found these eggs in a Robin's nest.
We hope that the Robin will come back and lay on these eggs but we don't know if she came back, we never touched anything.  It was such a surprise to run into the nest.

Porter's Baptism!!

Saturday- May 3, 2014
Congratulations to Porter on his Baptism Day. We are so proud of you Porter Edward Harris being eight years old and being baptized by your father, Spencer James Harris.  This is a special day for you and we are sorry that your Harris Grandparents are not able to be there with you because they are on the Illinois Nauvoo Mission but our thoughts are with you.   Here are some pictures for us to remember this special day, May 3, 2014.

Porter Edward Harris, you handsome young man- Jackson- his brother, His Dad, Spencer James Harris.  I understand that Porter was so excited that he drove into the water from the step.  Spencer grabbed him so he could stand up and get ready for his Baptism.

Here are some of the kids that went to Porters Baptism.  Carolyn, Porter, Mark, and Kyler Bonney. I also understand that Matt & Kisti, Jens, Joseph, and Charity  Christensen went to Porter's Baptism also. Porter you are our newest member of our family in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
