A special moment with our Grandson Derek

Saturday--  25 August 2018

On this day our Grandson Derek Joseph Bonney came to Monticello Utah Temple to receive his own Endowment.   He and his parents, Ken and  Tami Bonney drove to Blanding Friday about 5:00 pm, President James and Beverly Harris were serving am and pm shifts that day.  We stayed up that night late to visit with them since we didn't get home until 10:30 pm.   On Saturday morning about 10:30 we drove to the Monticello Utah Temple to do our pm shift and then Derek and his parents would be there around 12:30 pm to visit with and Ordinence Worker who has spent 12 years in the area where Derek will spend his mission in Mozambiqua, Africa and he will speak Porsche on his mission.  He has his Grandpa's middle name Joseph and wanted to be here with his Grandparents. Jim is in the Monticello Utah Temple Presidency and so he got to give a special talk to Derek about the temple.  We got Lloyd and Lois Bayles to cover our position at the temple because they were shift coordinators and we went on the endowment at 3:15 session with him.  It was so special for me to sit with our daughter Tami in the session.  Jim sat by JB and Derek was on the front row with his father, the escort.    We really appreciated Derek coming to the temple so we could be with him otherwise we wouldn't been able to be with him.  He is so prepared to go in the mission field and we are so proud of him.  The people in Mozambiqua are very black, is what the Ordinence couple said and Derek is fair and blond and about 6 feet -2 inches tall.  Derek said it helped him so much to talk to the couple that answered his questions and is so excited to go, he doesn't go until October 14, 2018.  The wife really stressed to being obedient to the mission rules.  Well it was a special day for us as Grandparents to be with Derek and his parents.  I love the feeling you feel as you are in the temple and how close you feel to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ it was a perfect day and then the family left to travel to Orem right after and we stayed while the Delta Ward and Bishop Chris Johnson cleaned the temple.  It was great to see Chris Johnson because he was a really good friend to Jed, our son in high school.  He also talked Jed to be coming a dentist so now Jed is a dentist in Wisconson and Chris is a dentist in Delta, Colorado.

Another Sister going on a mission- 18 Aug. 2018

Saturday- 18 August 2018

Rylee Paige Martin came to the Monticello Utah Temple for her own Endowment at 1:00 pm on this day and she was the sweetest and friendly young sister that I have had in a while.  She just glowed with the spirit of the Lord and was truly so excited to be in the temple.  She is from Fruita 1st Ward, Grand Junction West Stake.  I didn't get to do her garment instruction,  Sister Livingston did it because I was doing our training meeting to our Ordinence Workers at 12:00 pm. She would be going on the 1:00 pm session and I would help her from that time on.  She was so excited to serve her mission in California and her mother with her was also excited to be with her first child which would be serving a mission.  It is so neat to be with those missionaries when they come for their own endowment.  When we are released in 2 months this is what I'm going to miss this special time with the sisters.  I  love serving in  the Monticello Utah Temple and I want all to know that reads my blog that I love the Lord and how often He helps me with tender moments.  I know that my Heavenly Father lives and that Jesus Christ is my Savior and has died for me.  I am humbly that he hears and answers my prayers.  I have shared my experience what happened to me on Wed. driving to the Monticello Utah Temple for Presidency Meeting at 12:30 pm.

Another missionary was also at the temple receiving his own Endowment for his mission at the 1:00 pm session.   His name was Zurel Michael Matteson, and he was a good friend to the Grandson of President and Sister Yarbrough in Cortez, Colorado. Their Grandson had just received his own Endowment a few weeks ago and he was his best friends escort so the Bishop who was President and Sister Yarbrough's son was also their to help in the session because it was blind leading the blind.  It looked like they all had a special experience in the session that Saturday afternoon I know I did being with all the own endowments.

Special Tender Moment- 15 Aug. 2018

Wednesday- 15 August 2018

I was driving by myself because Jim went to the Monticello Utah Temple Presidency Meeting from the farm at Dodge.  As I was driving to Monticello I was at the top of Devils Canyon and the light came on and said "Low Gas Level", Oh why don't I remember to look at my gas when I leave home I thought. I thought I'm don't going to make it to Monticello because I'm out of gas so I started to praying " please help me Father to get to Monticello and not run out of gas".  Just shortly after I prayed out loud the gas register went half way up between the fourth of a tank and empty.  The message that said I was out of gas was all gone in the front and on the radio spot.  So I drove all the way to Monticello not wearing if I would make it or not but when I got to the block I turn on that takes me to the school which is close to the temple the gas register dropped to empty and I knew the Lord had helped me once again with His tender mercies.  I thank my Heavenly Father for helping me to arrive to my Presidency Meeting safe and I was able to get gas after my meeting and everything was OK!!!  I shared this experience with the Ordinence Workers in my meeting because I wanted them to know the Lord does help us when we humbly ask Him.  We all had a good cry with the spirit close to us all.  It is so wonderful to have spirit to spirit in the temple.
