Special Sealing today- 17 April 2018

Tuesday- 17 April 2018

Vera Jean Gilbreath came to the Monticello Temple today to be sealed to her parents.   She is 75 years old and her sister and her husband came to be the proxy for the parents in this sealing.  Her sister(which I don't know her name) and her husband's recommends were expired.  So my husband, 2nd councilor in the Temple Presidency went and called the Temple President, President Livingston and ask him what he should do.  He told my husband to let them go in and watch but couldn't do any ordinances.  So I was asked to be proxy for her mother.  I was thrilled and when I told her that her sister could come in and watch the sealing she just cried and cried so I cried with her and told her I would be her mother.  It was a beautiful sealing and she and I cried and the spirit of her parents were there.   She wanted the sealing this day because it was her Dad's Birthday today, he would be 109 years old.  Vera Jean Gilbreath was sealed to her father, Douglas Lane Gilbreath (Deceased) and her mother Opal Ellen Close (Deceased).  Then her sister said we will sit outside and wait for you while you go sit in the Celestral Room for awhile.  I went with her and she cried and cried and I know she felt her parents by her side.  What a wonderful day at the Temple I thank my Heavenly Father for these special moments in the Temple. Vera Jean was the last child to be sealed to her parents, now all the children are sealed to the parents, the other sister was sealed last year.

Another special Own Endowment

Wednesday- 11 April 2018- 10:00 AM

Beveraly Kay Smith (a German spelling) came today to the Monticello Temple to receive her own Endowment. She was from Aztec, New Mexico and was 67 years old and it was a joy to see how excited she was.  She glowed from ear to ear and it was neat to give her the instructions about wearing her garments.  People that are older are like sponges they just absorb everything you tell them.  She was a little nervous but was so excited to be in the Temple.  I was amazed how many people came to support her, it was heavenly.  After Beveraly Kay and her husband, Harold Francis Pepin's Endowments they were sealed in the Monticello Temple.  It was special to see so many people that came to their Endowments and Sealing.  So many special days these days!!

A sad day- Funeral for Doris Black Pehrson

Tuesday- 10 April 2018

Doris Black Pehrson died April 4, 2018 from Cancer.   She probably only lived a month or so because she didn't want to do anything about it.  She didn't want anyone to come and see her and so Sister Livingston sent her flowers from the Monticello Temple Prisidency which was very thoughtful for her.   Doris was Sister Livingston's visiting teacher and Sister Livingston wanted to go see her many times but she did Doris's wishes.  That couple are so in turn with the Lord and them that they even look alike in their picture.   President Clarence Pehrson had served in the Monticello Temple Presidency for 3 years a few years back.  He was a Sealer on Tuesdays and everyone loved him so much.   President Harris and I were working the Temple that morning so we knew we would miss the funeral but here came President and sister Yarbrough running into the temple and said you go get changed and you can make it to the grave side.  They are so thoughtful all the time so we went to the grave side and it was beautiful.  They had Brother Reid Chapman sing a solo, "In the Garden" boy! he has a beautiful voice.  President Tom Livingston dedicated the grave (home teacher and friend).
I'm sure the funeral was wonderful.  After we went up to President Clarence Pehrson and he was so happy to see us there and we felt his special spirit and comforted us.  When his wife found out she had a fast growing cancer he asked to be released as a sealer because he needed to be by his wife all  the time.  I hope later on he will come back to his friends at the temple.  Truly they are a perfect couple.  We love them so much and will miss them both!!!
